Bar Council of India

The Bar Council of India (BCI) is a statutory body created by Parliament to regulate and represent the Indian bar. It lays down the standards of professional conduct, etiquette, and exercises disciplinary jurisdiction over the bar.

Navyug Vidhi Mahavidhayalaya is fully approved and recognized by the BCI. As an affiliated institution of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya University Ayodhya, we strictly adhere to the mandates set forth by the BCI to ensure our LLB (3 Years) program meets the highest standards of legal training.

Student Mandates

Key Guidelines for Law Students

Mandatory Attendance

As per BCI rules, every student is required to maintain a minimum of 70% attendance in each subject (including tutorials, moot courts, and practicals) to be eligible to appear for the end-semester university examinations.

Professional Dress Code

Students must adhere to a formal dress code. White shirt with black trousers/skirt, along with a black tie and black blazer/coat during moot courts, guest lectures, and practical training sessions to maintain the decorum of the legal profession.

Moot Court Participation

Active participation in Moot Court exercises is a mandatory part of clinical legal education. Students must prepare memorials, observe mock trials, and present oral arguments as part of their academic evaluation.

Compulsory Internships

BCI mandates a minimum period of internship during the LLB program. Students must intern under practicing advocates, law firms, NGOs, or judicial bodies and maintain an internship diary for assessment.

Legal Aid Clinic Duty

Students in their final years are required to actively participate in the Legal Aid Clinic. They must assist in providing free legal counseling and participate in legal awareness camps organized by the college.

Strict Anti-Ragging Policy

In compliance with BCI and Supreme Court directives, the college maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Any violation will result in strict disciplinary action including rustication and filing of an FIR.
